E&C HK G28 Bundeswehr HK417 AEG DMR Rifle w/ Kestrel V2 ETU

The HK G28 is a German designated marksman rifle (DMR) developed by Heckler & Koch. It is essentially a precision, accurized variant of the HK417 platform, built to provide infantry units with extended-range capability beyond the standard service rifle. The G28 was adopted by the Bundeswehr around 2011–2012 for use in Afghanistan, where German troops needed improved accuracy and effectiveness at longer engagement distances compared to the standard G36.

While the HK417 is a general-purpose 7.62×51 rifle, the G28 is tuned for accuracy: Heavier, match-grade barrel, Optimized barrel profile for heat stability. Free-floating handguard to reduce point-of-impact shift, It’s designed to maintain accuracy over sustained fire, not just deliver 7.62 power. The G28 is noticeably heavier than the HK417 as the added mass helps reduce recoil impulse for Better shot-to-shot consistency.
