SHS solid oil-less steel bushings are made from steel and do not feature any cross-slot or "oil channels" which increase stress at specific points on the gear shaft, leading to potential gear shaft failure. Solid bushings are advantageous over bearing bushings due to the fact that small bearings are known to fail at extreme loads. Tip: For a good ROF tradeoff, install these solid bushings on your sector and spur gear, but keep your bearings on your bevel gear because the bevel gear experiences less shear force due to its smaller diameter and orientation in relation to the pinion gear and spur gears.
